The Nexus-GK Basic set is a bundle built specifically to connect your instrument to BOSS/Roland 13-pin (GK) processors and synths. It provides a reliable GK-13 output and on-instrument control.
What’s inside (core pieces)
- Nexus-GK breakout box
- GK-MIDI module with GK 13-pin output
- 19-pin multichannel instrument cable
- 19-pin output jack (panel-mount)
- Internal Breakout board (routes pickups, CV, and switches to the 19-pin)
- Regulated 12 V power supply
- One momentary 2-way switch (defaults to GK S1/S2)
- One CV potentiometer (defaults to GK VOL)
What it does (GK use-case)
- Plugs straight into BOSS/Roland GK-13 devices such as SY/GR/GP units via the 13-pin connector
- Maps your on-instrument controls to GK functions (e.g., S1, S2, GK VOL); can also send standard MIDI CC/PC on the 5-pin DIN if you want external MIDI control
- Optional: the Nexus-GK’s TRS outputs can be used for parallel analog recording to your audio interface (not required for GK operation)
Typical signal flow
Guitar (Nu Multi or Nu Capsules → Internal Breakout) → 19-pin output jack → 19-pin cable → Nexus-GK
- GK path: Nexus-GK 13-pin → BOSS/Roland GK device
- Optional MIDI: Nexus-GK 5-pin DIN → MIDI interface/rig (for CC/PC from CV/switch)
- Optional analog: Nexus-GK TRS outputs → audio interface → DAW
What’s not in the box
- Nu Multi or Nu Capsules pickups are not included. Choose your pickup set separately.
- Your BOSS/Roland GK device and the GK 13-pin cable are not included.
- Your audio interface and any TRS-to-dual-TS Y-cables are not included.
Note: Please take note that the Nexus-GK Basic Set does not include the GK-MIDI board.
