Overview
Thor is a concept guitar that aims to bring the guitar into the twenty-first century. Thor is made of carbon fiber and hardwood, with cutting-edge electronics that provide infinite multichannel sustain and multichannel outputs; one pickup for each string. This opens up an entirely new world of possibilities, including extensive per-string audio processing and synthesis.
Thor Infinity Guitar MKIII, the third iteration, is my masterpiece. At Mark III, it just gets better every year, like fine aged wine.
The Third Batch
I’m pleased to announce that we are now ready to start the third production batch. Thor MKIII is now officially available for preorders. The complete turnkey system, including the Nexus-GK set, is $3800 (excluding shipping charges). I will accept a 50% deposit (via Stripe or PayPal), with the other half payable upon completion.
This batch will be limited to 18 units.
For an in-depth look at what drives Thor, see The Infinity System.

Options include the XR-Spectra ($137.99), monophonic, low-impedance FRFR pickups with a uniform frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with the Tone Block ($47.99), onboard tone shaping, and the eWhammy ($199.99), a responsive, electronic whammy bar.
On timing: we’ll start production by mid October; we’re targeting end of February 2027 for the first six units and three units a month from then on. We’ve learned a lot from the first two batches, and production is now far more streamlined, so we expect this batch to move quickly. Each Thor is meticulously hand-built using non-traditional materials and methods, so please treat the date as a target and not a promise.
Orders ship in the sequence deposits are received.
Purchasing Thor makes you an official sponsor of the Infinity Project, an ongoing quest as presented in its white paper. Your sponsorship means the world to me. Ultimately, your sponsorship will fund further hardware and software developments beyond what we have already achieved. Sponsors will have preferential access to current and future developments of the Ascend project for multichannel processing—the software component of the Infinity Project.
Together, let us bring the guitar to the 21st century!
Sound Clips
Here are two experiments in sustain and tone. Sonic Envelopes explores clean, evolving textures. Poly Fuzz dives into per-string distortion. Both show what is possible with polyphonic sustain when each string has its own voice.
In Sonic Envelopes, short audio snippets were recorded using only the Thor Infinity guitar to demonstrate polyphonic sustain and multichannel processing. No synths, no drums, no bass, and no overdubs. The raw guitar, tracked per string, was processed in Logic Pro using various audio effects plug-ins. The goal was to morph the sustained signal into new textures through post-processing. A typical multichannel signal flow was outlined: per-string preprocessing, per-string inserts and sends, then a poly mix bus for final glue.
This second part, Poly Fuzz, explores polyphonic distortion. Traditional distortion extends sustain and changes timbre by adding harmonics, but with multichannel sustain the first role is already covered. Timbre can be shaped in other ways, so distortion becomes just one of many waveshaping tools.

Is this guitar compatible with Fishman Triple Play?
I don’t know. I haven’t tried it. But I see no reason why not. FTP is an external device.
I ask because another guitar with a Hex Sustainer—the Moog Guitar—had a problem with this due to interference from a strong electromagnetic field.
Can you check that for me?
I’m sorry, but I can’t. I do not have FTP. Here’s what I know for sure. One user installed a Roland GK5 pickup and it works flawlessly.
That’s great! So FTP should work well too. Thanks!
