Dark Art Guitars’ PolyMap is an ambitious 64-channel polyphonic guitar pickup system that captures each string at eight different positions, turning pickup placement into something you can shape later in the DAW. Equipped with our Nu pickups, it uses their tiny size, directional response, and full-range bandwidth to make this ultra-dense spatial pickup array possible. The result is a fundamentally new instrument architecture pushed to the extreme.

Totally wonderful. I have Submarine SubSix pickups, but this looks amazing. Guitarists invest a lot of time in a six string guitar, so I think this needs to be the motherload. I also play some Chords with my thumb on the six string, with eight strings that’s impossible, and eight seems to be extreme. However, this eight strings does have a following now. I’m amazed at the loose pull of strings, I would love to know the tensions, as I’m into parabolic strings.
Over the years I’ve watched Cycfi develop, and been amazed at their versatility of instruments, their pickups can give great sounds to. So to put them inline like this, brings another dimension into a DAW. Guitarist love choice, put a six string guitar with Cycfi pickups inline, with these controls, then into a DAW, is pure Heaven. If Drummers could have this depth, if Cello, if a Piano, if any musical instrument . . . This is Spiritual Music Heaven to every musician, then there’s Sound Engineers and Producers. How much does Musical Heaven cost? I bet many will be tempted.
