This is without a doubt one of my favorite. Simple, but oh so satisfying. Here’s how our fret cutting tool works. The video clip and images below should be self-explanatory. A laser-cut acrylic template with fret position slots aligns with a 3mm pin. The fret slots are cut on a small rotary saw with a titanium coated circular saw blade with a cutting width of 0.5mm. For extra smooth operation, we use drawer guides with ball bearings to hold the top panel where the template and fretboard are attached.
